Works on anything
Built and tested on the sites people actually watch Japanese content on:
On NicoVideo / TVer / Abema we also cache the translation, so anyone watching the same video after you gets the subtitles instantly — free for them, no quota cost for either of you.
Common questions
Is it actually real-time?
Within ~6 seconds. We send the audio in short chunks and translate each one as it arrives. There's an unavoidable buffer because translation works best on whole sentences — that's the trade-off for accuracy.
How good is the translation?
It uses OpenAI's Whisper translation model. For clear, single-speaker Japanese it's quite good. For overlapping voices, music-heavy scenes, or heavy slang it gets rougher. Treat it as a comprehension aid, not a polished sub.
Does it work on Netflix / Disney+?
Probably not — those services use DRM that prevents tab audio capture in Chrome. It works fine on the open web (YouTube, NicoVideo, TVer, Abema, news sites, embedded players, etc.).
What data do you collect?
Your email, your subscription metadata, and usage minutes. The audio itself is forwarded to OpenAI for translation and not retained on our side. We don't track the URLs you visit. Full privacy policy.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Billing is handled through Stripe; you can cancel or change plans from your Account page in two clicks.
